Pogo Park is a community-based nonprofit group working to rebuild the Elm Playlot, a half-acre park in an inner-city neighborhood burdened by crime and poverty. By engaging local residents in the re-design and re-building of Elm Playlot, Pogo Park works as a catalyst for both child development and community development, and serves as a new model for how to reinvigorate inner-city parks and playgrounds.

As a result, the size of the Bay has actually increased slightly, and public shoreline access has increased from four miles in 1969 to over 200 miles today.
